As an Industrial Placement student, you won't be observing from the sidelines; you will be embedded within the team that powers the world’s largest financial institutions. This role is designed for a visionary builder—someone who is as comfortable analyzing complex data sets as they are communicating with senior executives to drive the future of electronic trading.
What You’ll Get
- A supportive environment fostering career progression, continuous learning, and an inclusive culture.
- Broad exposure to CME's diverse products, asset classes, and cross-functional teams.
- A competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
What You’ll Do
- Drive Platform Evolution: Actively support the daily functioning of our Repo and Cash Bond markets, ensuring our central limit order books and RFQ platforms operate at peak performance.
- Synthesize Market Intelligence: Transform raw quantitative and qualitative data into actionable strategic insights that influence senior-level decision-making.
- Bridge the Gap: Serve as a critical link between technical platform development and client-facing sales, ensuring the customer’s voice is the primary driver of product innovation.
- Collaborate Across the Core: Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Technology teams to navigate the complexities of global financial infrastructure and bring new projects to life.
- Champion Innovation: Contribute fresh, creative perspectives to platform improvements, helping us stay ahead of competitor activities and emerging market trends.
What You’ll Bring
- Academic Excellence: Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree, ideally in Economics, Finance or Maths (on track for a 2:1 or higher) with a mandatory requirement for an Industrial Placement year.
- Market Curiosity: A deep-seated interest in financial technology and the evolution of global markets (knowledge of Repos, US Treasuries or European Bonds is a significant advantage).
- Excellent Communication Skills: The confidence to engage with senior stakeholders and the ability to articulate complex ideas with clarity and impact.
- Analytical Rigor: A logical problem-solver with strong attention to detail and proficiency in the Microsoft Office and Google Workspace suites.
- The "Proactive" Edge: A self-starter mentality, willing to jump into cross-product teams and thrive in the fast-paced, resilient environment of a global trading hub.
