Our Graduate Trainee Programme offers a flavourful mix of learning and development, designed to help you thrive in a dynamic and innovative industry. With hands-on experience, elite training, and opportunities to work across various sites and functions, you’ll be well-equipped to carve out a successful career and become a future leader at Pilgrim’s Europe.

Programme Overview

  • Duration: 18 months
  • Rotations: Three 6-month rotations

What To Expect

  • An opportunity to gain a range of experience, knowledge and skills within the Agriculture Technical function.
  • Adaptability & Flexibility: Be prepared to travel and relocate across our Agriculture sites in NI and GB.
  • Rotation 1 (Sep-Feb): Start with an in-depth introduction to our poultry business where you will experience the central laboratory, breeder farms and hatcheries based in Anwick.
  • Rotation 2 (Mar-Aug): Relocate to broaden your experience in our poultry operations and deepen your understanding of the indoor and outdoor broiler operations, feed mills and factory operations based in Dungannon.
  • Final Rotation (Sep-Feb): Focus on leadership and operational excellence, learning about the pig operations within Pilgrim’s Europe, develop an understanding of Agri-compliance, auditing and disease control, engage with our veterinary colleagues and be involved in R&D projects based in Stradbroke.

Essential Criteria

  • A degree-level qualification with a minimum of 2:2 in the following disciplines:
    • Animal science
    • Vet science
    • Zoology
    • Animal welfare
    • Agriculture
  • Passion for agriculture and animal welfare
  • Must be willing to relocate or be based across any Pilgrim’s Europe sites or farms.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Availability to start the programme on the specified date (September).
  • Demonstrated leadership potential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • High level of motivation and a proactive attitude.
  • Strong administration and organisational skills.
  • Hungry and in a hurry to grow your career.

Desirable Criteria

  • Having completed work experience or a placement year in agriculture or the food industry is desirable but not a necessity.

As part of our graduate programme, you will be required to have entitlement to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we do not offer sponsorship for this programme.
