We’re looking for a Placement student to join us at MUFG Corporate Markets Treasury, a part of MUFG Corporate Markets, a division of MUFG Pension & Market Services. We are the leading treasury management advisor to the public sector and the Business Support Executive will help us to continue to support our clients by joining our Client Executive Team, working to provide a range of presentations, economic commentaries and reports, as well as historic and live market data, to our clients. It’s an exciting role, providing a great opportunity for a university student to shadow senior staff and learn about Treasury Management, apply knowledge gained during their degree and develop skills to enhance their future career prospects.
During your time with us, you’ll be given all the opportunity you can handle, as well as the encouragement to not just learn what we do but help us to do it better. We can also provide training on financial market platforms such as Reuters, Bloomberg and DataStream.
The role is based on a hybrid basis from our stunning office in central London, so whilst you won’t be in the office every day, you do need to be within a commutable distance.

What you need:
As with any role, we want to find the right person and we want to make sure you know it’s the right role for you too. You will need to be a 2nd year student studying for a degree that is relevant to a career path in Financial Services and looking for a 13-month Placement as part of that degree. In addition, you will need:
- A pro-active, conscientious attitude with an interest in doing a great job and learning all they can during their time in industry
- Awareness of the economy, financial markets and current events
- Great knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint with strong analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and initiative
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with internal stakeholders and external clients
- A supportive team player with the ability to manage their own time
Day to Day, you will:
- Download daily financial data provided by Reuters and Bloomberg
- Produce the daily economic, standard presentation used for client meetings and work with the Client Executive Team to produce client meeting presentations, including economic updates, interest rate forecasts and debt portfolio analysis
- Produce monthly investment reports for clients and quarterly benchmarking reports
- Monitor and update clients’ debt portfolios
- Write economic bulletins which review gilt market movements and major economic events
- Follow fundamental economic, industrial and corporate developments through the analysis of information obtained from financial publications
- Attend client seminars and interact with clients via telephone calls and emails to help resolve queries and ad hoc reporting requests, in addition to compiling and dispatching regular news updates to clients
- Produce supporting documents for tender response to retain and win new business
- Maintain client database through MUFG Pension & Market Services Passport system
