Business Unit Specific Information

This Marketing Internship sits within the GNS Product, Marketing and Global Businesses (PMGB) team, which is a part of the Global Network Services (GNS) business. GNS operates in all regions globally to drive scale and relevance for the American Express Brand by partnering with external banks and financial institutions.

Through this Marketing Internship, you’ll have the opportunity to craft real life product and marketing strategies to help to expand our Network business. You could be engaging with top creative agencies on brand executions, driving digital card acquisition, or working on global product and benefit strategies trying to bring them to life with your own ideas.

All of this will be done using market and consumer, evaluating the external landscape, and analyzing internal data to identify trends. So, if you’re someone who can use data constructively and come up with winning strategies, then this internship could be for you.

Our well-established Summer Internship Programme provides high-performing MBA students with exciting projects aligned to the company’s strategic, operational, or financial goals. Interns will work on a challenging project, learn about our award-winning culture and network across our diverse business units and regions.

Skills/Experience

  • Great critical and strategic thinking skills, able to approach complex problems with logic and rigour.
  • Ability to think analytically, comfortable analyzing and interpreting data to identify trends and drive insights.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability and confidence to influence senior leaders.
  • Ability to build solid relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, and present ideas in a compelling way.
  • Adaptable self-starter who can work with limited supervision. Comfort with ambiguity in a fast paced and progressive culture.
  • Experience working on global projects and with business partners in multiple countries.
  • Overall intellectual curiosity and ability to identify opportunities and solve problems.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Fulltime MBA programme.
  • Students must have a graduation date between December 2025 and July 2026.
  • This role will be based in London, United Kingdom.
