Applications are open for our Commercial Banking Graduate Programme (UK). Our Commercial Banking area is centred on connecting businesses to opportunities through our Relationship Managers and digital capabilities. We provide the support, expertise, and products to help our clients grow their business sustainably and build relationships with clients to better understand their needs. Whether you’re helping a small business grow, or a large international company transition to net zero, you’ll use your passion, curiosity, and initiative for growing commercial business.

Your programme will start by developing your skills in communication and influencing to support our Relationship Managers with our clients. You’ll understand our risk management and how we mitigate for these through credit training. You'll have all the support needed to take ownership for project management of products, and you’ll learn how to incorporate Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues into our solutions so clients become more sustainable and support our Net Zero ambitions. We know how important it is to have the right skills, both for your future and ours. By building this skillset now, we’ll help you develop the agility to keep learning new skills throughout your career with HSBC.

Towards the end of the programme, you’ll have an informed idea of the career path you want to follow in Commercial Banking. This might include roles such as Business Banking Relationship Managers, Mid-Market Enterprise Relationship Support, Large Corporate Relationships Support or Business Analyst roles.

You’ll experience the above in 3 x 6 months rotations across locations based in the UK. These locations will typically include (but not exclusive to) Birmingham, Leeds, Leicester, or Manchester. This programme will not include London as a location option so please ensure you are comfortable with a programme that includes location-rotation before applying. 

You won’t be on your own on this programme. We have a great graduate community who you can fall back on for support and share your journey together. You’ll be assigned a buddy and a mentor to turn to. You’ll be provided guidance and direction from an award-winning development team who will be there throughout the duration of your time.
