Placement

The communications placement role sits in Ofwat's communications and engagement team. This team plays a crucial part in the delivery of Ofwat's strategy, working across the business to encourage effective engagement and communication among our own people and with external audiences.

Our placement programme offers a varied, hands-on experience that gives you genuine insight into how a regulator communicates and engages with its stakeholders in public and in private, all supported by high quality training to help you build a strong foundation for your future career.

We're offering two placements: the first will focus on strategic communications, media, brand, digital and design; the second will focus on internal and external engagement and campaigns.

During your time in the communications and engagement team you'll have the opportunity to spend time with:

  • Our digital, brand and design team, producing eye-catching content for social media and our website;

  • Our internal engagement team, ensuring Ofwat's people get the information they need

  • Our media team, landing Ofwat's key messages everywhere from national titles to niche trade publications and prepping for broadcast media;

  • Our stakeholder engagement team, collaborating with environmental, consumer and water companies right across the sector;

  • Our marketing team, working on water efficiency behavioural change campaigns;

  • Our public affairs team, tracking the political conversation and spotting opportunities to make Ofwat's voice heard.
