The corporate finance professional placement sits in our Major projects team.
The Major Projects Team is responsible for the oversight of the development, procurement, and delivery of the future pipeline of major infrastructure projects in the water sector in England and Wales. These include new reservoirs, water recycling and desalination schemes and infrastructure that will transfer water across England and Wales. We work closely with RAPID (Regulator’s Alliance for Progressing Infrastructure Development) on the early engagement on both water resources and wastewater planning.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications, essential attributes, experience, skills and knowledge.
Eligibility Qualifications
You should have, or be on track to achieve, at least a 2:2 degree in one of the following degree areas: Finance, Economics, Accounting, Sciences, Engineering. from a UK university.
We also welcome applicants who have completed a Level 3, 4, or 5 apprenticeships in any of the areas listed above, as well as applicants with a relevant postgraduate qualification.
As this is a placement programme, you must either be studying on a degree that includes a sandwich year or be a recent graduate/ apprentice with no more than three years of post-graduation work experience.
Experience, skills and knowledge

Lead Criterion - A keen understanding of finance, along with a keen interest in how major infrastructure projects are funded and financed, including both public and private investment models.

Good numerical and analytical skills with the ability to work with numbers, spreadsheets and tools such as excel for calculations, charts and analysis.

Great verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and concisely.

A keen interest in developing regulatory and commercial awareness
