This undergraduate placement role sits within our Early Talent Team, within the wider People Team. The Early Talent function was established in 2020 to support the recruitment and delivery of professional qualification programmes for our trainees, and it is now a team of 9 working across a wide range of activity.
This placement role will be working as an Early Talent Recruitment Assistant, working closely with a Senior Advisor and Coordinator, to support the end-to-end recruitment process. You’ll be getting involved in all aspects of the job, from on-campus attraction to application screening, right through to onboarding. You will provide administration assistance throughout the process,to support the team in providing a first-class service to the business, and an excellent candidate experience to those applying to our early talent programmes.
You’ll be gaining a varied experience and insight into a full early talent recruitment cycle and will also gain an insight into teams and services across the firm through training, lunch & learns, a group project and networking. Key Responsibilities
Whilst on placement, responsibilities will include:
- Handling recruitment-related queries within the shared inbox
- Scheduling of assessment centres and interviews
- Reviewing and processing of trainee applications
- Supporting the organisation and attendance at external recruitment events
- Supporting branding and promotional activities for the Early Talent programmes
- Assisting the onboarding process, by preparing and issuing new starter documents and coordinating pre-joining activities
- Updating and maintaining accurate data in the application tracking system
- Coordinating employee referrals
- Ad-hoc support on other activities, projects and events
Who are we looking for?
This 12-month placement is for students who need to complete a placement as part of their undergraduate degree, and we are looking for students who are interested in pursuing a career in recruitment and/or People function. Students applying should be on-track for a 2:2 or above, and demonstrate the following skills:
- Highly team orientated approach with adaptability regarding tasks undertaken
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills with the ability to progress multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritise workload and maintain effective systems
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- A confident communicator, able to deal comfortably and credibly with staff at all levels, both internally and externally
- Takes ownership of own workload and development
- Professional and confident with a can-do attitude with the ability to forge professional relationships
Recruitment process
The application process is made up of four stages:
- Application
- Interactive assessment
- Video interview with one of the Early Talent team
- Final interview in the office
