Wood is recruiting for an Engineering Summer Placement to join its Operations team focusing on engineering activities as directed by Senior/Principal/Lead Engineers on the project. Activities typically include the production of engineering deliverables associated with studies alongside project technical support.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out work in accordance with Company and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems.
  • Provision of engineering services to projects as assigned.
  • Communicate effectively within a multidiscipline team.
  • Ensure technical documents and data are prepared and structured in accordance with relevant project standards and international design codes.
  • Ensure design satisfies all operational and safety requirements.
  • Check and verify engineering documents in line with the technical and quality plan.
  • Provide documentation and drawing deliverables on time to meet project deadlines.
  • Participate and contribute in engineering design meetings.
  • Produce cost-effective designs that are fit for purpose and safe.
  • Provide technical assistance where required.
  • Review work output as required.

Qualifications

  • Working towards an Undergraduate Engineering degree.

Knowledge Of:

  • Awareness of Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, and Pharmaceutical sectors.

Experience Of:

  • Design / Simulation work.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and development.

Ability To:

  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to build good working relationships within teams.
  • Be highly organised and able to prioritise tasks.
  • Meet deadlines without compromising accuracy (attention to detail is critical).
