What Is an Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF)?

An exchange-traded fund (ETF) is an investment fund that holds multiple underlying assets and can be bought and sold on an exchange, much like an individual stock. ETFs can be structured to track anything from the price of a commodity to a large and diverse collection of stocks—even specific investment strategies

Programme information

You will join as a trainee as part of the Investment20/20 programme. While we can’t guarantee a permanent position at the end of the 12- month contract, it is our intention to make an offer to extend a further year, but this is up to how well you perform. 75% of Investment20/20 trainees are offered permanent positions.

Our traineeship will introduce you to investment management and you will gain industry knowledge, experience and develop relationships enabling you to progress your career and provide you with skills to secure a permanent role. We will support you in achieving a professional qualification if this is something you are interested in doing. As part of the Investment20/20 programme, you will have opportunities to meet and network with over 300 trainees across the industry and participate in socials and insight events. 

Our trainee programme is a fixed term one-year contract. You will receive 24 days annual leave. All roles are based in London.

Programme Summary

This is a programme intended to give you a breadth of knowledge and experience within the business to enable you to make informed decisions about where you would like to develop your career.

Responsibilities include

  • Supporting the ETF, Index and Smart Beta Sales Team with client prospecting activities (i.e. market segment analysis and client mapping) and maintenance of CRM database.
  • Working with the sales team to help position and pitch ETF, Index and Smart Beta products with clients and prospects (i.e. constructing pitch decks and producing trade ideas).
  • Responsibilities include business development activities for new segments (i.e. platforms and digital) and direct contact with clients and prospects in relation to these segments in collaboration with senior sales members on the team.
  • Respond efficiently to client queries (e.g. research & analysis in relation to products) and where required speaking directly with clients to best address their requests.
  • Contributing proactive ideas to help with the development of the brand awareness of Amundi ETF, Indexing and Smart Beta franchise (i.e. assisting marketing teams on sales events and digital marketing materials).
  • Close collaboration and effective communication with various teams within Amundi UK and the broader Amundi Group to ensure effective client responses.
  • Managing the process for client request for proposals (RFPs) and due diligence questionnaires (DDQs).
  • The role holder will adhere to FCA rules and principles and the Firm’s policies and procedures. Where appropriate, the role holder will seek guidance from Head of Compliance.

Requirements

If you are a school/college leaver or graduate who has an interest in working within financial services and has the following attributes, we are interested in hearing from you:

  • Works well with a team, but also able to work effectively alone.
  • Opportunity to take IMC Qualification if you would like to (can be obtained during your Trainee role with us).
  • Resourceful and proactive – able to assimilate and present information from a range of sources
  • Excellent communication and research skills are essential
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a team player
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to leverage resources internally

Successful candidates will be asked for a video interview with the hiring manager, followed by video interviews with the team and HR.
