Finance Transformation Consulting– Business Analyst - Health
What does this team do?
Deloitte's Finance Transformation team acts as a strategic partner to CFOs, guiding them through complex financial landscapes to unlock value and drive sustainable success. As a part of Deloitte's Finance Transformation offering, our Health team partners with NHS organisations, Local Authorities, and other government entities to solve their most pressing challenges and help shape the future of public services.
We collaborate closely with our clients developing and implementing tailored solutions that drive efficiency and improve public services. From streamlining NHS finances to optimising local authority services, our team is at the forefront of public sector finance transformation.
Our projects span:
-
Leading large-scale transformation programmes.
-
Driving financial and performance improvement.
-
Project and change management, delivery and implementation.
-
Strategy development and stakeholder management.
What skills and academic qualifications do I need?
You’ll need to have obtained or be studying towards a minimum 2:1 in any degree discipline and have graduated by September 2027 for the Autumn 2027 intake.
Skills we look for within our team:
-
Curiosity and a growth mindset: We’re looking for people who are curious to get to the root cause of our client problems and who are eager to learn and develop.
-
Strong Analytical Skills:You'll be comfortable working with data, identifying key details and trends, and drawing insightful conclusions.
-
Results-oriented approach to work: We appreciate those who are committed to completing tasks to a high standard.
-
Working at pace: We work in a fast-paced environment, so you'll need to be comfortable working efficiently.
-
Effective communication skills:You’ll be willing to present and lead conversations with junior level client management (with support until ready to lead on your own).
-
Navigating challenging situations:You'll be working with government, public sector and health clients facing challenging situations. We provide training and support to help you navigate these situations effectively.
-
Understanding of the public sector: While not essential, any prior experience or understanding of how public sector organisations operate would be a significant advantage.
What kind of work will I do?
As an analyst on our team you'll be at the heart of solving complex challenges facing the public sector. You'll work directly with clients, collaborating on a diverse range of projects from start to finish. Your responsibilities will include data analysis, developing innovative solutions, and managing projects – all while contributing to strategies that improve public services and leave a lasting positive impact. Expect a fast-paced, rewarding environment where you'll learn, grow, and make a significant impact.
While some projects benefit from an accounting background, it's not a requirement for most of our work. We understand career paths are diverse, so we support analysts interested in specialising with the opportunity to complete either the ACA (ICAEW) or CIMA Certificate qualifications – but this is optional, and we will support you to make this decision when you start with us.
Our team is primarily based in Birmingham, with client-based work when required. While some client work may require occasional overnight stays, this offers valuable experience and the chance to build strong relationships with clients.
Where will I work?
At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working. If you’re in a client-facing role, you might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will be a mix of online and in-person events. Please note your final assessment and induction will also be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships.
All our workspaces are accessible, however, if you require further flexibility due to a health condition or caring responsibilities, please discuss this with our team.
