Financial Research Analyst - Summer Internship 2025

Megabuyte is offering a 10-week summer internship for ambitious second-year students looking to gain hands-on experience as Financial Research Analysts. The role, which is based at our Reading office, is a great opportunity to develop your analytical skills, work alongside industry experts, and contribute to our research on the B2B technology sector.

About the role...what you can expect

Over the course of your internship, you will develop core analytical skills, including financial modelling and market analysis. Supported by close mentorship, you’ll work on a dedicated project, gaining insight into how we assess companies and trends in the technology sector. You’ll also have exposure to speaking with CEOs and industry experts, helping to shape your understanding of key market dynamics.

• Financial analysis – Interpreting company accounts, corporate transactions, and valuation metrics.
• Market research – Conducting a structured analysis of technology companies and the markets in which they operate.
• Communication & networking – Engaging with industry leaders to gather insights and refine your research approach.

What we look for in Summer Interns:

• Currently studying towards a numerical-based degree in finance, economics, maths or the sciences.
• A curious and analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex information and communicate it clearly.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and confidence in engaging with industry professionals.
• A proactive and well-organised approach, with the ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
• Enthusiasm for financial analysis, market research, and understanding company dynamics.
• Exceptional Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.

Our interview process

We operate a two-stage process. In the first interview, the candidate will speak to a senior member of the team over the phone to better understand the company and the role and for us to get an initial feel for the candidate’s aptitude for the role.

If the candidate is successful in the first round, they will be asked to attend an in-person or virtual meeting to be more formally interviewed and have a chance to meet with other members of the research team.

Interviews will be held at Megabuyte’s Reading offices or online if your circumstances require this.

The role will be based at our Reading office with some working from home options.
