Job Description

The Global Student Opportunities Intern will complete a 12-month rotational placement within the Student Opportunities team. The role involves supporting the delivery of services and initiatives related to global opportunities, study abroad and student events, and any additional support as required across all opportunities including those at home. They will also provide excellent customer service by responding to requests submitted via the Student Hub.

The Team

The Student Opportunities team sits within our Student Success and Learning Services directorate, providing students with opportunities, at home and abroad, which build skills, experience and capability across a broad range of activities. This includes supporting students with study abroad and global opportunities, internships, placements, DBS applications, volunteering, work experience, and part-time jobs.

Required Skills and Experience

  • York St John University 2025 Graduate
  • Confident in speaking to students on a one-to-one basis and in groups
  • Passion to promote our range of activities and opportunities and to engage students
  • Excellent IT skills, including use of Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Knowledge and understanding of the advantages of gaining a range of experiences while at university and how these can enhance employability, particularly if these are global opportunities

Additional Information

It is anticipated that the selection process will include an interview and a presentation.
