Salary: £12.50 per hour

Are you a bright graduate about to take that important first step in your career? And are you looking for an opportunity in which you can build your skillset, contribute to key projects for the business, and gain experience in the publishing industry? Or perhaps you are a current student who is seeking summer work.

At Global Water Intelligence (GWI) we are looking for a creative and organised intern to work closely with our production and editorial teams as we develop our publications in line with our new online platform.

Your primary focus will be building picture and graphics libraries for the business. You would need to take an investigative approach to locating and gathering relevant images, graphics and logos saved on our company’s file storage systems, organise and tag these in SharePoint so they are easily searchable and navigable, and prepare, resize and reformat images and graphics for use on our soon-to-be-launched new website and range of email newsletters.

And, as part of our Production Team, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in the creative side of the publishing industry and support with various responsibilities, including:

  • Proofing & editing.
  • Laying out publications.
  • Support on design creation.
  • Learning publishing software.

This a paid internship, with the potential for extension or development into a permanent position for the right candidate.

We are looking for the following qualities:

  • Committed, persistent and proactive approach to work.
  • Creativity and a keen eye for detail, taking pride in a high-quality end product.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • An organised and considered approach to sorting, categorising, and managing assets and information.
  • Comfortable adapting to new software and applications.
  • Experience in Microsoft SharePoint and design software such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop would be advantageous.
