The Role
Are you ready to launch your engineering career in a company that’s shaping the future of electronics manufacturing?
We have an exciting opportunity for a graduate to join our Software Engineering team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions for Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work alongside experienced engineers, gaining deep insight into software design and implementation while making a real impact from day one.
You’ll be involved in:

Designing, coding and testing software modules for high-performance manufacturing systems

Debugging and resolving software issues across multiple platforms
-
Collaborating with hardware and systems engineers to integrate software solutions
-
Participating in code reviews and contributing to best practices in software development
-
Documenting software specifications, changes, and test results
-
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the software team
Throughout your 18-month graduate programme, you’ll be supported with mentoring, training, and development opportunities. You’ll stay in one department, allowing you to build deep expertise and take ownership of your work, but also have the opportunity to see how all departments work together. You will be contributing to meaningful projects that support ASMPT’s mission.
About you
We’re looking for a graduate who is passionate about software engineering and eager to apply their skills in a real-world setting. You should:

Be in your final year of study (graduating in summer 2026) or have completed your degree in the last 1–3 years in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline

Have great programming skills in languages such as C++, C#, or Python

Understand software development principles

Possess excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Communicate clearly and effectively with team members across functions

Be proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple tasks
