Your Role

We are looking for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our 2026 Graduate Programme, based in Cardiff. As a graduate, you will collaborate with your team and the wider Stantec community to deliver innovative solutions to high-profile clients, while developing your engineering expertise in a truly multidisciplinary and creative environment.

You will have the opportunity to work with some of the largest water clients in the industry and make a real difference in the communities we live in from the very beginning.

What You’ll Do

  • Solve engineering problems and carry out engineering calculations using design software and tools such as ArcGIS.
  • Develop designs and produce drawings, reports, and presentations.
  • Undertake site visits to collect and collate data.
  • Work as part of a friendly and collaborative project team, with support and guidance from Senior and Principal Civil Engineers.
  • Receive dedicated mentorship to support your journey to Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

About You

We value your potential over past experience. Along with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, we’re keen to hear from candidates who are:

  • An Adapter: Able to remain calm in new and changing situations, comfortably switching between a variety of dynamic and exciting tasks.
  • A Perseverer: Composed in the face of setbacks, approaching challenges with confidence and determination.
  • A Collaborator: Effective at working with diverse teams, considering others’ perspectives to shape better outcomes.
  • A Problem-Solver: Ready to share insights based on evidence and unafraid to challenge conventional thinking.

Work Arrangements

Graduates are expected to be in the office four days per week to ensure the right level of support and collaboration.

What We Can Offer You

  • A competitive salary.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • A range of benefits, including holiday buy and sell, group income protection, and life assurance.
  • Permanent employment contract, demonstrating our commitment to your long-term career at Stantec.
  • Professional progression plan, supporting you to become chartered with ICE.
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment, an Early Careers peer group, and a wider Employee Resource Group (ERG) network.
