JOB PURPOSE
To play a key role in the delivery of electronics projects at OPD, applying technical and practical hardware skills, and contributing to design, development, and testing.
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for a talented graduate to join our growing Electronics team, working in a fast-paced consultancy environment on projects across a variety of sectors. Working collaboratively and building strong relationships with colleagues and clients is essential in this role, but it’s also important that you can work independently and autonomously too. Successful graduates will be offered a permanent Junior Consultant role on completion of an initial 12-month contract.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the hands-on assembly, development, and testing of electronic rigs and prototypes
- Support testing, fault-finding, and debugging activities
- Delivery and development of electronics and embedded software components
- Delivering electronics project work within scope, on time and on budget
- Collaborate with Design and Engineering team colleagues to help develop innovative and effective solutions
- Ability to work autonomously and independently when required
- Communicating with clients clearly and confidently
- Work with OPD’s design processes and procedures [ISO 9001 / ISO 13485]
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or similar
- Relevant work experience gained as industry experience on your course, summer work placement, or gap year
- Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Creative problem-solving ability
- Confidence in the workshop/lab
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
