Job Description

Cosworth is recruiting Graduate Engineers to join our Powertrain Engineering department. Working within a small, dynamic team, you will contribute to high-profile powertrain programs while gaining hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle, including design, simulation and analysis, test and development, manufacturing, and project engineering.

The Role

You will join Cosworth’s graduate training scheme and become an integral member of the engineering team. Through a combination of training, mentoring and hands-on project work, you will have the opportunity to learn and contribute across multiple engineering disciplines, including:

  • Design
  • Simulation & Analysis
  • Test & Development
  • Manufacturing
  • Project Engineering

This role offers broad exposure to real-world engineering challenges, enabling you to develop strong technical foundations while contributing directly to world-class powertrain programs.

The role holder is also expected to consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities undertaken, and to support the Company’s compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 by adhering to company policies and best practice at all times.

Candidate Profile

  • Good class degree (2.1 or above) in a relevant engineering subject or equivalent qualification.
  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the operating principles of the internal combustion engine.
  • Able to interpret technical information to generate a logical series of actions based on the implementation of sound engineering practice.
  • Able to show an understanding of the commercial and manufacturing implications of engineering decisions.
  • Able to communicate effectively on a technical level with other engineers, both within and external to Cosworth. This includes the compilation of written reports, verbal communications and presentations.
  • Have a good understanding of commonly used office software packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Able to organise own workload in an effective manner.
  • Able to demonstrate a commitment to improving skills through relevant training and experience.
  • Have a passion for engineering and problem-solving.
