With joining in our Research and Development team you will be a part of developing the latest systems for our Rail Infrastructure business - covering solutions such as cloud based signalling protection systems, advanced traffic management systems, driver advisory systems, safety critical electronics, cyber security and trackside components. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that is shaping the future of rail infrastructure through innovative solutions and advanced safety-critical systems.

Embark on your journey with us whilst taking part in our fantastic graduate development programme. We will create a personalised training plan to help you develop the specific skills and knowledge required for your role.

By the end of your programme, you will be equipped with the best knowledge and hands-on experience to kickstart your professional career here at Siemens Mobility. You will be:

  • Assisting in delivering project objectives at various phases in the project lifecycle
  • Developing knowledge and skills in the following functional areas:
    • Project Management
    • Software development and testing
    • Systems/Requirement Engineering and Integration testing
    • Quality Process
    • RAMSS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety & Security)
    • Electro-mechanical, Electronics & Firmware
  • Building a working knowledge of our products, systems and strategies for implementation
  • Participating in the continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies while promoting engineering excellence, through the adoption of new processes tools and methods of working
  • Carrying out work placements in specified technical and non-technical areas
  • Promoting our projects alongside other Graduates, Apprentices and Interns within the business
  • Taking the lead in our unique Graduate, Intern & Apprentice innovation project

Essential Skills and Attributes

We are seeking innovative and inquisitive candidates that demonstrate the following:

  • Achieved or be on track to achieve a 2:2 or above in a general engineering, software, Physics or computer science related degree.
  • Logical thinking, willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas and look to develop your ability to drive change
  • Enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams, including software developers, systems engineers, and project managers, to deliver innovative solutions
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
