We’re looking for a Graduate Fire Engineer to join our progressive, award-winning Fire Engineering team in our Birmingham office as part of our 2026 Graduate Programme, delivering sustainable projects for our communities, planet, and society.
Our Fire Engineering team has earned a reputation for delivering technically excellent work. From concept to construction, our fire engineering expertise helps optimise design and ensure complex buildings are compliant with regulations. We have extensive experience across public sector, residential, commercial, industrial, and high-hazard process projects, providing services from site appraisal through planning, design, and delivery.
We are looking for graduates with a passion for the built environment and the desire to work in a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary team focused on sustainability, technical excellence, and shaping construction in the UK and overseas. Our projects will inspire you, build your confidence, and enable you to take on the biggest challenges throughout your career.
Your Role
You’ll work with the support of your manager and senior colleagues on activities such as:
- Fire engineering design on a number of projects.
- Early-stage strategic input to design.
We provide comprehensive fire safety services to clients across sectors.
About You
At Stantec, we value your potential over past experience. You will bring a degree and/or master’s qualification in a relevant engineering discipline with modules relating to fire safety and fire engineering, and a keen interest in our industry.
- An Adapter: Able to remain calm in new and changing situations, comfortably switching between a variety of dynamic tasks.
- A Perseverer: Composed in the face of setbacks, approaching challenges with confidence and determination.
- A Collaborator: Effective working with diverse teams, considering others’ perspectives to shape better outcomes.
- A Problem-Solver: Willing to share ideas based on what you observe, unafraid to challenge conventional thinking.
Please note: Graduates are asked to come into the office a minimum of four days per week to ensure sufficient time with your team and the appropriate level of support.
What We Offer
- A competitive salary.
- Private medical insurance.
- A range of benefits, including holiday buy and sell, group income protection, and life assurance.
- Permanent employment contract demonstrating our commitment to your long-term career at Stantec.
- Professional progression plan, supporting you to attain professional status.
- A supportive and collaborative team environment, Early Careers peer group, and a wider Employee Resource Group (ERG) network.
