Graduate Flood Risk Consultant - London - 2026

Graduate scheme

Overview

With every community, Stantec redefines what’s possible. Application deadline: recruitment is ongoing. Please apply as soon as possible as the advert may close once we have sufficient applicants.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Flood Risk Consultant to join our team in London as part of our 2026 Graduate Programme, delivering sustainable projects for our communities, planet, and society.

What You Will Do

Our application of cutting-edge TUFLOW modelling technology, combined with a range of geographic information system (GIS) tools, enables us to significantly refine site-specific flood zones and manage and mitigate impacts further afield. Early engagement in the development process is key to success. Through these modelling techniques, we work with developers to tackle flood risk issues and explore the implications and costs of proposed mitigation measures—ensuring development is appropriate to the site and maximizing the likelihood of approval.

In this role, you will help shape sites and provide valuable input into placemaking while contributing to the resilience of development sites to flooding and climate change, helping to create more attractive places to live and work.

About You

At Stantec, we value your potential over past experience. We welcome applications from candidates with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline and who demonstrate the following qualities:

  • An Adapter: Calm and effective in new and changing situations, comfortable switching between dynamic tasks.
  • A Perseverer: Composed in the face of setbacks, approaching challenges with confidence and determination.
  • A Collaborator: Works effectively with diverse teams, considering others’ perspectives to shape better outcomes.
  • A Problem-Solver: Willing to share insights, unafraid to challenge conventional thinking.

Working Arrangements

We ask our graduates to come into the office a minimum of four days per week to ensure you receive sufficient time with your team and the appropriate level of support.

  • A range of benefits, including holiday buy and sell, group income protection, and life assurance
