Role Overview

We are seeking a Graduate Geospatial Consultant to join our 2026 Graduate Programme based in Edinburgh. You will work with an award-winning team of geospatial experts driving digital transformation across Stantec and our clients in the Water sector. As part of a client- and user-focused team, you will champion new digital workflows and integrate technology and data into our services and solutions.

In this role, you will help clients make smarter, data-driven decisions by leveraging the power of location-based data and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). You will contribute to projects that develop and apply our digital offerings across a variety of contexts, including data visualisation, multi-criteria analysis, automation and efficiency, and best-practice data management. You will help drive insights from big data to enable proactive management of assets and more informed investment planning—ultimately benefiting communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of geospatial solutions within the Water sector, integrating GIS and location intelligence.
  • Champion digital workflows and help embed data and technology into services and solutions.
  • Contribute to data visualisation, multi-criteria analysis, and process automation to improve efficiency.
  • Apply best-practice data management principles to ensure data quality, consistency, and value.
  • Derive insights from large datasets to support proactive asset management and investment planning.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage with clients to understand needs and deliver user-focused outcomes.

About You

We value your potential over past experience. You will have a Bachelor’s degree in data/computer science, mathematics, or a similar related discipline, and a keen interest in the water sector. We are especially interested in people who are:

  • An Adapter – Comfortable switching between dynamic tasks and remaining calm in changing situations.
  • A Perseverer – Composed in the face of setbacks, approaching challenges with confidence and determination.
  • An Eager Learner – Curious and reflective, learning from experiences to anticipate how situations may unfold.
  • A Collaborator – Effective working with diverse teams and perspectives to shape better outcomes.
  • A Problem-Solver – Analytical and confident in challenging conventional thinking to improve solutions.

Please note: We ask our graduates to be in the office 4 days per week to ensure you receive time with your team and the appropriate level of support.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Private medical insurance
  • A range of benefits, including holiday buy and sell, group income protection, and life assurance
  • Permanent employment contract, demonstrating our commitment to your long-term career
  • Professional progression plan, supporting you toward professional chartership
  • A supportive, collaborative team environment, Early Careers peer group, and access to Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
