The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Graduate Communications Officer to support our central corporate communications team. The role focuses on social media—creating content, managing and monitoring our platforms—and supporting the development and delivery of communications campaigns and messaging that promote council services, enhance civic pride, and position the borough as a great place to live, work, invest, and visit.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a creative and hard-working team with a strong focus on telling the stories and experiences of our employees and residents in their own voice.
About You
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging content for a range of audiences and platforms.
- Creativity and the ability to generate fresh ideas for campaigns and storytelling that resonate with local communities.
- A recent degree and a genuine interest in local government and public service.
- Proactive approach: takes initiative, shows curiosity, and is eager to learn and grow.
- Well organised and collaborative; works effectively with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
