Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 per annum

About the Role:
Are you a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate ready to begin your career in building services engineering?
McCulloughs Ltd is seeking a motivated and ambitious Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Newmarket. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across major mechanical projects while working alongside experienced engineers in a supportive and professional environment.
You will gain exposure to the full project lifecycle from initial design and estimating through to installation and completion. Working across both our Major Projects and Hospitality divisions.
This role is primarily office-based, with regular opportunities to visit projects across the UK.
As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you will:

Work closely with experienced in-house Mechanical Engineers on live projects
-
Assist with compliant mechanical design in accordance with CIBSE Guide B, DW/172, Building Regulations Part F and other relevant standards
-
Evaluate equipment and resource requirements for projects
-
Assist with estimating and cost analysis
-
Purchase materials and coordinate with suppliers
-
Assess technical drawings and specifications
-
Liaise with our fabrication workshop regarding production requirements
-
Support the preparation of risk assessments and method statements
-
Monitor project progress and support management reporting
-
Communicate with clients, contractors and suppliers as required
-
You will be involved in projects from start to finish, gaining valuable commercial and technical experience.
We are looking for someone who is:
-
Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering (or similar discipline)
-
Enthusiastic and motivated to develop a long-term career
-
A great communicator, both written and verbal
-
Analytical with good problem-solving skills
-
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
-
Competent using CAD software (ideally AutoCAD or Revit)
-
In possession of a full, clean UK driving licence
