Graduate Overhead Line Design Engineer
Job role:
As a Graduate Design Engineer, you’ll join a supportive team of experienced engineers who will mentor you, helping you gain practical experience and knowledge to be able to develop your skills and confidence in the role. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and be a part of a multi-disciplinary team. With no two days the same, you will be exposed to a wide range of disciplines and stakeholders each contributing towards your ongoing learning and development.
What the role involves
-
With the support and mentoring from the team, you will have the opportunity to absorb information and develop your knowledge and skills enabling you to accelerate quickly to the position of Design Engineer.

You will undertake design studies under the guidance of senior engineers and meet quality requirements and deadlines.
-
You will work with industry-standard tools, including the PLS-CADD software suite, to develop your practical engineering solutions.
-
You will be expected to assist with the production of 2D and 3D CAD drawings to meet the needs of the projects.
-
You will have the opportunity to familiarise yourself and develop your knowledge of design standards and best practices.
-
As part of ongoing development there will be opportunities for some site based roles which is encouraged and in turn offers you valuable experience across the businesses range of activities.
Ideal Candidate
To be considered for these positions, you should:
-
Be working towards (or have already achieved) a relevant degree or postgraduate qualification (Mechanical, Structural or Civil Engineering)
-
Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – with the ability to articulate your information and ideas in a clear and concise manner.

Be able to effectively deal with a wide variety of stakeholders across clients and the industry.
-
Have a methodical approach to problem solving and a great attention to detail.
-
Be able to manage and prioritise your own workload effectively with great organisational and planning skills.
-
Be able to travel and attend meetings and site visits across the UK which may include occasional overnight stays.
