Graduate Process Engineer

Overview

As a Process Engineering Graduate at NUVIA, you'll join a two-year development programme that combines technical training with exposure to real-world nuclear projects, supporting your progress toward professional registration with the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). From day one, you'll contribute to projects involving nuclear technologies such as decommissioning, commissioning, waste management, defence, and power generation. You will gain exposure to the project lifecycle in highly regulated, safety-critical environments. Supported by experienced professionals and mentors, you'll develop practical skills in process systems design and build the technical expertise and professional behaviours needed for a successful career in the nuclear industry.

Your day-to-day tasks may include:

  • Supporting the design and optimisation of process systems, plant layout, and equipment selection
  • Contributing to radioactive waste management strategies and process safety assessments
  • Producing mass/energy balances and equipment sizing calculations
  • Developing process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Producing technical documentation and specifications
  • Embedding sustainability principles throughout the delivery of engineering solutions
  • Applying theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges
  • Engaging with the supply chain
  • Using digital engineering tools
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation, regulations, and standards
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Degree Disciplines

Applicants should hold (or be on track to achieve) a 2:1 or above in one of the following or a related discipline:

  • Chemical Engineering
