The Babraham Institute is seeking a highly organised and proactive Graduate Studies Administrator to support the smooth running of its Graduate Studies Office, which manages postgraduate students affiliated with the University of Cambridge. Reporting to the Graduate Studies Manager, the role provides vital administrative support across the full student lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to ongoing progress monitoring and programme events.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include coordinating Graduate Committee meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, supporting the organisation of recruitment open days and interview panels, arranging induction activities, and overseeing essential onboarding tasks such as IT accounts, ID badges and security checks. The post holder will input student data into HR systems and CamSiS, maintain intranet content, and support events such as Bootcamps, Poster Day and induction sessions. General administrative duties will also form part of the role.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will bring strong administrative experience, excellent attention to detail, strong IT and organisational skills, and confidence communicating with stakeholders at all levels. Experience servicing committees is essential, while experience in Higher Education is desirable. The role requires a proactive, adaptable individual who can handle confidential information, work independently and as part of a team, and manage multiple priorities.

Working Conditions

This is a part-time position (27 hours per week, with potential to increase to 37 hours depending on funding) based at the Babraham Institute, offering flexible start/finish times and potential hybrid working. This is a fixed-term appointment with funding for this post expected to be available until 31st March 2032.
