We are looking for a Graduate Sustainability & Carbon Management Consultant to be based in Newcastle, joining our 2026 Graduate Programme.
Stantec UK has a market-leading Environmental Services (ES) group, supporting clients across environmental, geotechnical, and water disciplines. Within our ES group, we are seeking Graduate Net Zero, Climate Change, and Sustainability consultants who are passionate about climate change, the Net Zero challenge, social value, and wider sustainability. You will help provide practical solutions that integrate different disciplines and perspectives to deliver real and lasting benefits to communities and the environment.
What You Will Do
- Undertake carbon footprinting and develop low-carbon solutions in support of clients’ Net Zero plans.
- Complete sustainability appraisals, natural capital, and social value assessments.
- Conduct climate change risk assessments and develop adaptation plans and strategies.
- Develop digital approaches to embed sustainability into wider engineering and environmental services.
- Help develop and assess sustainability targets and maintain project records.
- Clearly communicate sustainability requirements to internal and external teams.
- Provide support on wider sustainability and resource efficiency projects.
- Attend site visits and client meetings.
- Assist with preparing bids and proposals for new work.
- Engage with wider skills networks across our business to share knowledge and exchange best practices.
We will help you engage with the latest climate change and sustainability legislation, policy, and guidance, while developing your capabilities in Sustainability and Carbon Consulting.
As a member of our team, you will work closely with experienced colleagues to develop your skills and knowledge. You will have opportunities to learn and grow while helping to deliver successful projects for our clients.
Key is your passion for climate change, the Net Zero challenge, social value, and wider sustainability as demonstrated in your studies or work experience. You should enjoy evaluating options by understanding context and risks and developing practical solutions that bring lasting benefits to communities and the environment.
You should be able to organise and manage your own activities, deal effectively with multiple priorities using a structured approach, and switch comfortably between a variety of dynamic and exciting tasks. You will be motivated and proactive in your work, exhibiting ownership of your workload and a desire to make a real difference.

About You
