About the Internship

An internship programme is a structured, temporary work experience offered to current students, recent graduates, or individuals looking to gain practical experience in a specific field. It serves as a bridge between academic education and the professional world, allowing participants to apply what they've learned in real-world settings.

This role offers an intern a 12-month placement within Haven’s Commercial function, supporting the Head of each area to drive and deliver Haven’s Commercial agenda.

The intern will need to work cross functionally across various Haven teams to support the delivery of Havens overall commercial agenda through a number of different owners and areas across the business.

  1. Brand and Performance Marketing (potential focus on PBC, Google, Social, CLM) x 3 months
  2. Customer Lifecycle Team 3 months
  3. Owners Commercial Analytics (pitch profile) x 3 months

Responsible for supporting key aspects of the Commercial agenda, including – this role will be required to work closely with responsible priority owners, to support and monitor progress.

Location

Travel to Hemel Hempstead central office and parks required. Hybrid working is allowed.

Key responsibilities

Rotation 1 (3-4 months) Brand and Performance Marketing

This area is responsible for the activation, performance and measurement of PPC campaigns for Haven Holidays & Caravan Sales with a focus on improving our Caravan Sales Account, working on key projects with the PPC team and wider teams to enable you to support our strategic goals. Remit will include:

  • Day to day set up and optimisation of campaigns/keywords/ads across PPC
  • Using data to identify opportunities for optimisation
  • Adapting activity in line with commercial performance
  • Creating and optimising Ad copy through regular testing
  • Optimizing PPC keyword bidding using search queries
  • Working with data teams to create new audience segments
  • Analysis of keyword search volumes to identify growth and optimization opportunities
  • Monitoring competitor activity
  • Weekly reporting and feedback to key stakeholders
  • Budget management across the accounts

Rotation 2, (3-4 months) CLM Team

The Customer Lifecycle Marketing (CLM) Team plays a key role in delivering targeted, data-driven marketing campaigns that enhance customers holiday experiences and drive revenue growth. Sitting within the CLM Team, this role supports efforts to cross-sell products and services, and boost retention.

  • Work closely with the CLM Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to plan, build and execute experience and ownership campaigns/automations.
  • Work closely with the web, park and digital teams to support owner communications to improve NPS.
  • Support the execution of guest pre-arrival journeys across Email, SMS, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience.
  • Maintain and update pre-arrival content to ensure accuracy, quality, and alignment with Haven’s brand.
  • Supporting the creation of a new owner welcome journey, ensuring owners are well-informed.
  • Support emergency communications for park teams when needed.
  • Help develop reporting and optimisation plans.
  • Collaborate with the brand, web, and digital teams to ensure all campaigns are on brand, drive traffic to the right place.

Rotation 3 (3-4 months) Commercial Analytics

As part of this rotation, supporting the Commercial Team as an Analyst the remit will cover key tasks in the following area:

  • Calculation related to the billing of site fees including annual inflationary increases, capital investment increases, new customer site fees, Bourne Leisure Discount and GM credits. Ensuring that all changes are reflected correctly in PLOT and can be correctly billed by the Owner Accounts team.
  • Maintaining the pitch aspect of the PLOT database including the creation of new pitches, deletion of pitches as and where necessary and monitoring and maintenance of all pitch attributes and will include auditing attributes to ensure that pitch gradings are correct and provide an accurate picture of current pitch status versus the pitch masterplan for each park.
  • Calculations for the annual site fee budget and measure performance against budget (particularly new pitches) and will propose amendments where relevant either due of performance to date or recommendations from the Pitch Perfect model.
  • Calculation of letting rates for all current and future products with reference both to tariff and new customer site fees. They will receive data on competitor site fees and letting rates and benchmark Haven against the wider market. This role will also support the Pitch Profitability Manager in the execution of initiatives under Big Rock #4 to close the gap between existing and new customer site fee.
  • Caravan Stock & Pricing, predominantly processing promotional discounts and pricing changes. There will also be a need to deputise for both the Pitch Profitability Manager and Caravan Stock & Pricing Manager in the Caravan Sales Meeting as required. This may involve updating and analysing reports from Tableau.

There will also be an opportunity to be involved in budget planning through the annual pitch strategy planning process.

Essential skills

  • Excellent numerical skills and familiarity with Excel and data visualisation
  • Must be studying towards a business-related degree or relevant degree and graduating in Summer 2027.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Attention to detail and ability to synthesise meaning from data.

Desirable skills

  • Microsoft packages / Office 365 – MS Teams and SharePoint
  • Prepared to travel and stay at parks when required
