About the Internship
This role is a great opportunity for an individual that wants to start a career in finance and is looking for a challenging finance role. This role has a varied remit, where the individual can have a unique opportunity to see many aspects of a finance department with specific exposure to the finance business partner team (including the BI reporting team) and the finance operations team. The role will give the successful candidate a wide breadth of knowledge about Haven and will allow the individual to understand how finance work with each other, and the operational business.
Key attributes for any candidate are a willingness to learn and develop. You will need to have excellent numeracy skills and can prioritise multiple tasks to hit deadlines with a keen attention to detail. As an intern with Haven, you will be supported with mentoring, soft skills enhancements and have access to interact with senior members of the finance team to provide an enriching experience.
Key responsibilities
Duties will vary but will include:
- Rotation within the finance operations team, assisting in the AP, AR and accounting departments.
- Rotation within the finance business partnering team to include Capital and BI teams, including reporting using analytics tools.
- Delivery of timely and accurate weekly reporting during retail trading period including but not exclusively, sales reporting and labour cost reporting.
- Ad hoc P&L queries as required on behalf of the finance business partnering team for key Park stakeholders.
- Ad hoc reporting analysis and accounting entries as required.
- Ad hoc support for the wider Finance team.
Essential skills
- Studying towards a management/ business and finance degree.
- Demonstrates a drive to learn and grow within Finance.
- Demonstrable interest in a hospitality industry.
- Ability to analyse data and provide insights.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a diverse team.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Desire to learn and develop.
- A level grades of B and above preferably in numerical subjects.
- 2 years into a Business/Economics/Mathematics/Accounting type degree at high performing university.
- Willingness to learn and stay updated on industry trends and regulations.
- Acts with integrity and transparency in all financial dealings.
- A desire to deliver activity and tasks to high standards.
- Deal with some complexity.
- Embrace a commitment to continuous learning including staying informed about industry trends and best practice.
- Collaborative approach and desire to build solid relationship.
