This is an exciting opportunity to lead the School's postgraduate and clinical academic programme administration. The School has approximately 1250 postgraduate students (studying mainly for a PhD, an MD, an MPhil, or an MRes) and approximately 160 clinical trainees on the Integrated Academic Training pathway (either in the National Specialised Foundation Programme, in an Academic Clinical Fellowship, or in a Clinical Lectureship). This role is central to the effective management, leadership, and administration of these programmes. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining excellent relationships and communication with administrative, academic, and clinical staff across the School and University, and also with external partners, particularly Cambridge University Health Partners. The role holder will act as Secretary to the Postgraduate Operations Committee which reports directly to the Faculty Board of Clinical Medicine and is chaired by the School's Director of Postgraduate Education. They will also have oversight of administration for the Degree Committee for the Faculties of Clinical Medicine and Veterinary Medicine.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent experience and will be an experienced administrator, preferably in a Higher Education context. They will have excellent management and team leadership skills, as well as change management skills. They will have very strong interpersonal skills and communication skills (both written and verbal), and an ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff and students at all levels throughout the University and within the NHS, as well as with numerous other stakeholders both nationally and internationally. They will also be able to work flexibly and creatively, both independently and as part of a team, and will have the ability to rapidly assimilate new information and knowledge and meet challenging deadlines.
