Role description
This role is ideal for an enthusiastic, people-oriented and analytical graduate who is passionate about developing a career in HR, and enjoys working with people, working with data, improving processes, and contributing to a high-performance culture. It provides a strong foundation for progression into HR generalist, people analytics, or talent development pathways.
The Opportunity
As our Graduate HR Coordinator, you’ll support the day-to-day operations of our HR function across Head Office — combining hands-on people interaction with structured, detail-driven work. You’ll develop broad HR expertise while building strong relationships across teams and gaining experience in:
- HR administration: onboarding, contracts, changes, policy queries
- Employee experience: engagement activities, events and communication
- Generalist HR support: regular contact with employees and managers, supporting ER processes
- HR projects: policy reviews, SharePoint management, compliance activity
- Training coordination: managing programmes, providers and logistics
- Payroll support: preparing and validating accurate monthly payroll input
Payroll and data work will require confidence with numbers and attention to detail — but the heart of this role is HR, problem-solving and working with people.
About You
You’ll thrive here if you are:
- Articulate, confident and able to build rapport at all levels
- Highly organised, reliable and proactive
- Strong with data, numeracy and Excel — comfortable ensuring accuracy
- Curious, motivated and eager to learn HR end-to-end
- Professional, discreet and trusted with confidential information
Experience with HR systems or payroll data is helpful but absolutely not essential.
Why Oxford Instruments

- Build a broad HR skillset with clear development pathways (HR generalist, people analytics, L&D)
