Who We Are?
Frazer-Nash are an engineering, systems and technology consultancy. Through our meaningful innovations, our experts support organisations make lives safe, secure, sustainable and affordable.
In a nutshell, engineering consultancy is all about providing advice to positively impact our clients’ projects and businesses and the wider world around us.
Why Frazer-Nash?
As a Summer Intern student, you will typically be working on multiple projects simultaneously, managing your time and rapidly accruing a wealth of experience and skills. Hence, no two days in Frazer-Nash will be the same.
You will be surrounded by experts not just in your team, but also in a wide range of other fields – whether it’s digital or engineering, we’re an interesting bunch.
We have a comprehensive Early Careers package that will enable you to successfully integrate into our business and meet new colleagues from across the organisation – last year we had over 100 Graduates, interns and summer placements and we are looking for a similar sized cohort this year so you will be joining with a large and vibrant peer group.
The Team:
Within Cyber and Human Sciences, there are two groups which focus on the human element – the Human Factors group and the Behavioural Science and Psychology Unit. These groups work alongside our engineering and technology consultants, focusing on the physical interaction, psychological and environmental interactions associated with the human in a system.
The project work involves understanding how humans interact with systems and with organisations. We apply research methods to predict and influence human and team behaviour. We focus on the safety and security of our people within organisations and society, always focusing on the human.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is able to adapt to changing situations: the nature of consultancy is that you need to adapt to new scenarios in existing work or the challenges offered with new work. We are looking for individuals who are able to adapt their behaviour and ways of working to respond to these changing situations.
- Is organised in their approach in delivering their work: The ideal candidate should exhibit high organisational skills required to deliver our projects. They should be accountable and possess the ability to plan and organise work efficiently to meet clients’ needs.
- Is able to influence the outputs of their research: The ideal candidate should excel in effective communication, being able to work effectively with our clients and stakeholder to deliver our projects. They must be able to demonstrate confidence in delegation, the ability to empathise with clients, articulate solutions persuasively, and exhibit the emotional intelligence required to see things from the client's perspective.
- Is able to create the new and the different: Human Sciences is one of Frazer-Nash’s newest offerings, consequently the ideal candidate should have an entrepreneurial approach helping to develop future services for the groups. Given a blank sheet of paper we are looking for individuals who are able to create new service offerings to our current or future clients. This role requires constant stepping out of one's comfort zone to embrace the future.
As a minimum requirement you will be on track to obtain a 2:1 Bachelors or Master’s degree. You may have relevant experience from university courses in Psychology or an associated discipline.
Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
