Programme overview
The aim of our trainee programme is to develop the entry level talent from a range of diverse backgrounds, building on their existing skills and supporting their growth as our potential future leaders.
Our trainee programme is initially a one-year fixed term contract paying £30,000. You will receive a start to work bonus of £1,500 to support you with your travel, clothing and accommodation costs. You will receive 25 days annual leave and an opportunity for further time off under our Flexible Time Off policy. All roles are based in London, with the opportunity to work from home up to two days a week if desired once your initial training has been completed.
The Team
The International Client Associate team underpin the investment distribution efforts of Allspring, providing critical support to our sales directors and client relations directors as they work to grow our assets through client retention and identifying new business opportunities. The team of 12 associates based across multiple countries and multiple time zones, are an exciting and high performing team, using advanced knowledge of the business and of our clients to complete a wider variety of core tasks and working to find solutions to all manner of service requirements and growth challenges. The team work closely with a variety of other teams across the business, including portfolio managers, product specialists, legal, compliance, marketing, and operations, amongst others. The successful candidates will work alongside the Client Associate team, initially taking on entry level tasks whilst being mentored, trained, and developed, with the aim of building a great foundation of knowledge relating to the various functions within investment distribution.
This will be a great opportunity to start your career and learn about client servicing and new business development within the investment management industry.
What will you do?
The core tasks and functions you will be involved in will include:
- Creating client reports, including portfolio information and trading activity
- Tracking cash inflows, outflows, and revenue generated, identifying themes and highlights to be shared with senior management
- Completing fund and company questionnaires
- Preparing analysis on Allspring’s competitor firms and products
- Management of the team’s email account, triaging/responding to queries
- Maintaining and updating a database of client/prospect/opportunity details
- Project work, relating to team initiatives, process and procedure improvements, and market research.
Skills and attributes
If you are a graduate with a keen interest in building a career in financial services and you possess the following attributes, then we would like to hear from you:
- Excellent computer skills, including Excel and PowerPoint, with an aptitude for learning and navigating new systems
- Great attention to detail, particularly in relation to numerical data
- A flair and determination for problem-solving
- Inquisitive, with a desire to learn and develop new skills
- A team player mentality and a ‘can do’ attitude
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritise efficiently
- An understanding of the importance of client service excellence
Investment 20/20
You will join as part of the Investment 20/20 programme, through which you will have opportunities to meet and network with trainees across the industry and participate in training, socials and insight events.
