Programme information

You will join as a trainee as part of the Investment20/20 programme. While we can’t guarantee a permanent position at the end of the 12 month contract, it is our intention to make an offer to extend a further year, but this is up to how well you perform. 75% of Investment20/20 trainees are offered permanent positions.

Our traineeship will introduce you to investment management and you will gain industry knowledge, experience and develop relationships enabling you to progress your career and provide you with skills to secure a permanent role. We will support you in achieving a professional qualification if this is something you are interested in doing. As part of the Investment20/20 programme, you will have opportunities to meet and network with over 300 trainees across the industry and participate in socials and insight events. Our trainee programme is a fixed term one-year contract. You will receive 25 days annual leave. All roles are based in London.

Programme Summary

This is a programme intended to give you a breadth of knowledge and experience within the business to enable you to make informed decisions about where you would like to develop your career.

Responsibilities include:

The role of the Macro Strategist Intern is to support the EM Macro and Strategy team in its regular analysis through the year, with a tilt towards the analysis of the financial markets dynamics and (Fair Values, Projections).This will include:

  • Updating and maintaining macro/strategy models.

  • Brief reporting on results

  • Writing Macro comments/reports

Requirements

If you are a graduate who has an interest in working within financial services and has the following attributes, we are interested in hearing from you:

  • Economics, Financial Markets academic background

  • Basic knowledge of the main elements of macroeconomics and financial markets.

  • Experience and exposure to both EViews and Python

  • Demonstrable experience of being enthusiastic, inquisitive and interested in Investment Management

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Highly organised with excellent abilities to multitask

  • Excellent time management skills and a team player

  • Proactive and at ease with assuming responsibilities

  • Detail oriented with good organisational skills

  • Great working knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) suite of applications

  • Excellent written and spoken English

Additional

At all times the role holder will adhere to FCA and SMCR rules as well as the Company’s policies and procedures. Where appropriate, the role holder will seek guidance from Head of Compliance, Senior Management or HR.
