
National Grid Pathways to Progress Get Hired Programme Engineering Stream
The Generating Genius & National Grid Pathways to Progress Get Hired Programme is open for applications.
This talent development pathway is run by UK registered talent development and education charity, Generating Genius and National Grid. Our Get Hired programme supports students with step-by-step application preparation in-person and virtual workshops. These help students secure summer internships and graduation roles at National Grid and other top companies. 2028 graduates will also get the opportunity to apply for paid summer internships exclusively for students on this stream at National Grid. Applications for these internships will open in October.
Key dates to be aware of for the programme:
June
24th - Finding the right roles for you & Application Screening workshop (V)
25th - Mock Assessment Centre day (IP)
July
9th - Application planning & Commercial awareness workshop (V)
10th - Mock Interviews workshop (V)
21st - Programme graduation (IP)
August- September
Apply for some of the open roles and keep us updated. Some roles open a year or more in advance of them starting.
October
Apply for exclusive summer internships on this programme
V = Virtual event, IP = In person event
All travel expenses and food for the in-person days will be provided.
Who is it for?
Please read the criteria for the programme carefully and only apply if you meet these criteria. If you have any questions about the criteria just reply to this email.
This is for students that meet the following criteria:

Graduating in 2028 (if interested in internships for summer 2027) or graduating in 2027 (if interested in graduate roles)
-
Interested in graduate roles at National Grid, and/or interested in doing a summer internship in summer 2027.
-
Achieved average of BBB at A-level or equivalent
-
Must be studying one of the following degree types:
-
Engineering - Must be studying an Engineering degree
OR
-
Finance students - Must be doing Accounting & Finance or Finance, Accounting & Management or similar degree
-
(you will be asked to confirm which stream you are applying under below)
-
Attended a non-fee paying secondary school in the UK
-
Applicants must also meet our social mobility criteria below:
-
Household income of £45,000 or below and your parent/s are in either intermediate or working class occupations, or are unemployed
OR
-
You are a Care Leaver
The deadline for applications is Monday, 11th May, 9am.
