About the role
This role will be responsible for the development, support, and exploitation of the Bank's core business system applications. Other responsibilities include:
- Carrying out development, testing, and implementation of software enhancements in an Oracle database, using Oracle APEX and SAP Business Object reporting.
- Coordinating IT business information/activities including interpretation of technical documentation.
- Recommending solutions for technical aspects of projects as well as broad system improvements.
- Producing good quality documentation.
- Writing and understanding database queries using SQL.
- Planning and managing your project work-streams.
- Supporting members of staff with their general IT support issues via Service Desk requests.
Skills/Experience
Technical requirement:
- Software development experience including knowledge of development methodologies.
- Relational database knowledge and experience, including SQL.
- Experience of system or application design and implementation.
- Ability to create test plans from user stories/journeys.
- Ability to use the test plans to perform accurate system testing and write concise but good quality documentation of the outcome.
- Experience of designing, proposing, and implementing software.
Desirable
- Exposure to databases in a Linux/UNIX environment.
- Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle database knowledge.
- Oracle Application Express (APEX) knowledge.
- JavaScript knowledge.
- Unit Testing experience.
- SAP Business Objects or Crystal Reports knowledge.
