Role overview
This is an excellent opportunity to join our Private Client Tax team, which provides a wide range of personal tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients.
The successful candidate will focus primarily on personal tax compliance work, corresponding with clients, other departments within the office, and HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).
This role includes full support to study the ATT-CTA tax pathway, alongside on-the-job learning and mentoring.
Salary: £24,500 p/annum
Job description
You will work as part of a team managing a varied portfolio of personal tax clients, including high net worth individuals, business owners, property landlords, partnerships, and trusts.
Your typical daily duties will include:

Managing the annual personal tax compliance cycle for your own allocation of clients, including completion of self-assessment tax returns and related correspondence.

Liaising directly with clients, HMRC, and colleagues in other departments as required.

Assisting clients and supporting colleagues with ad-hoc tax queries.

Supporting managers and partners in delivering tax planning and high-level advice across a broad range of personal taxation matters.
Working arrangements
The working week: 37.5 hours per week per week (Monday-Friday) to be worked from 09:00-17:30 with adaptability of hours to meet specific work demands.
Location: Your principal work based is our Nottingham office.
Training
The firm provides full support, study leave and tuition costs, for the first attempts at all the exams and assessments that go towards the Level 7 Accountancy Professional Apprenticeship with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) qualification. With first time passes, it takes three years to complete your studies. Tuition is given by one of the leading external providers, Kaplan.
We also provide practical training internally. Immediately on joining us, you receive two weeks of training in accounting, our business language, and in auditing. This lays the foundation for your first year’s practical experience.

Academic requirements

2.1 degree
-
Minimum A-levels, B,B,C grades (or equivalent and excluding general studies);

Grade B/6 or above in GSCE Maths and English Language (GSCE or equivalent).
Professional qualifications

No previous professional exam study required
-
The role requires excellent communication skills and demonstrable ability to write and present professional reports would be an advantage.

A keen interest in pursuing a career in tax with a view to completing the examinations would be an advantage
System experience

Experience of using Microsoft Word/Excel to a good level.
