We are looking for an enthusiastic New Product Purchasing Student to join our team specializing in Purchasing for our Corporate Segment in Darlington. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence 7th July 2025.

External Qualifications and Competencies

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Key New Product Introduction work in support of departmental objectives.
  • Detailed involvement in Functional Excellence – opportunity to work with other Business Units to help share common processes, tools, and resources to better achieve business goals.
  • Working with a group of suppliers – assisting with purchase to pay process, cost reduction, capacity planning, delivery/quality performance, risk mitigation.
  • Data analysis in assistance with low-cost country sourcing/cost reduction opportunities.
  • Engagement across several teams, gaining commodity experience.
  • Close integration with Supplier Quality.

Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Working towards a degree – please specify degree being studied, preferably Engineering/Business related although not limited to these subjects.
  • Positive attitude, great personal motivation; being proactive in a changing working environment.
  • Communication skills and being able to work well in a team. Teamwork skills.
  • IT Skills/program knowledge.
