We are looking for an enthusiastic Purchasing Co-Ordinator to join our team specializing in Purchasing and Project Management for our Electrified Power Business Unit in Cwmbran, United Kingdom. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence 4th August 2025. The requirements are to be fully onsite Monday to Friday for this role, with some adaptability, so you will need to be able to travel or relocate to the location.
External Qualifications and Competencies
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Purchasing assigned items and executes buying strategies set out by the function at optimum cost and lead times.
- Analyse sourcing information and present finding for cost reduction, process improvement while maintaining a high-quality product and delivery of service both within the function and customers both internal and external.
- Involvement both supporting and leading various projects from conception to closure within cost and on time delivery, understand and adhere to policies and procedures and champion the Value Package Introduction purchasing common processes.
- Procures inventory, supplies and capital goods, obtains quotations and raises orders on vendors.
- Expedites orders to ensure that they are delivered on time in full, analyze sourcing and purchasing initiatives, follows processes in support of the delivery of cost effective and high-quality goods and services.
- Presents and explains project timelines for relevant project aspects, looking to mitigate
- Engagement in design and process responsibilities to achieve most cost-effective products, conducts minor supplier negotiations, supports purchasing/sourcing management in activities such as price benchmarking, vendor management, process analysis, market and industry research, model building
Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Studying for a Degree in Business Management, Project Management, Procurement or Supply Chain/Logistics
- Excellent Organizational Skills and Self-Motivated
- A willingness to challenge processes and designs as experience develops, demonstrates working to committed deadlines.
- Good MS package experience and a structured approach to problem solving and of project management, combined with the ability to manage concurrent projects and deal with various priorities.
