Our Internships are 12 months long (although some roles have the flexibility to be shorter) and during your placement, we’ll make you an integral part of our team and give you a real job – with real responsibilities – from day one. That’s why once you join we’ll work out ambitious but achievable goals for you. Then through the support of a mentor and regular reviews with your manager, we’ll help you achieve them.
Life in Research Development Quality (RDQ)
As an intern in R&D at Mondelēz International, you’ll take ownership of projects. You will contribute to the future of snacking by keeping the consumer at the heart of our innovation. Deliverables may include producing technical reports and presentations, sharing insights with stakeholders and fostering transparency and collaboration. You will have the opportunity to work with the broader RDQ community, business functions, and external suppliers, building your network and confidence. Beyond your primary project, you may support ongoing activities, gaining diverse experiences and contributing to a sustainable future. For some roles, occasional international travel may be required.
About the role
We are currently seeking a Designer for a Student Placement, to work in the Global Design Team for Mondelēz. At Mondelēz International, we craft iconic brands, creating moments of pure joy for consumers worldwide. Our Global Design team plays a key role in ensuring our brands remain world-class, and we're excited to offer a unique opportunity to shape the future of chocolate.
As a Student Designer in our Design Hub, you'll play an integral part in project teams, helping to create brilliant and meaningful snacks that consumers love. You'll get to work on an array of design projects, from identifying exciting opportunities to transforming consumer insights and desires into concepts that meet real needs.
Key responsibilities

Support the Design Team and Project Teams across the total creative spectrum.

Create and articulate new design concepts using design tools (sketching, rendering, 3D CAD etc.) to bring ideas to life.

Support the briefing process, then collaborate with and guide the design delivery of external design resources.

Use multi fidelity prototyping and visualization tools to bring ideas and designs to life, enabling decision making and consumer studies.

Support project leaders in development of design ideas and product experiences, gathering and interpreting information from market research and stakeholder assessments.
What we’re looking for

You should be working towards a Degree in Design: Industrial Design, Product Design, Graphic Design or other related design field, with a predicted end grade of 2:1 (or equivalent)

Experience using 3D CAD software (Solidworks and Rhino are our primary software’s) - desirable but not essential.

Ability to visualize ideas to a high standard (KeyShot, Adobe Suite, Procreate), as well as the ability to capture ideas by hand!

Experience and an interest in packaging design would be desirable.

Can write and articulate creative briefs in English to a good standard.

Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, would be an advantage.

A creative and consumer focused mind to generate innovative design solutions to real consumer problems.

A passion to learn and a willingness to develop new skills.
This position does not meet the minimum salary requirements for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Therefore, we are unable to consider applicants who require sponsorship.

Starting salary: £23,000
Closing date for applications is midday Tuesday 21st October 2025.
We will be holding our final stage assessment center for this role in-person at our Bournville offices on Tuesday 25 of November 2025. Reasonable travel expenses will be covered.
