Business Area/Dept Overview

Securities Services is a leading global custodian and securities services specialist that provides multi-asset post-trade and asset servicing solutions for buy and sell-side market participants, corporates and issuers.

The role is designed to support the entire UK Marketing & Communications team, which currently has a global remit across the Alternatives segment, Asset Managers, Asset Owners and Global Press Relations.

The trainee will work closely with all three team members, with a particular focus on Alternatives (Hedge Fund and Private Capital) Segment, gaining comprehensive knowledge across these areas.

This position sits within the Marketing and Communications team, whose key functions are detailed in the next section.

Job Purpose

The position will focus on enhancing the visibility of our Alternatives franchise through effective marketing sales campaigns, while also participating in the delivery of regional marketing activities and the development and execution of marketing plans.

Additionally, the role will involve supporting the UK Private Capital product team to help drive our growth ambitions. By working closely with product team, the trainee will get to learn about the product offerings, how to market them effectively, and conduct competitor analysis to refine strategies and enhance market positioning.

This is a highly interconnected role that spans marketing, sales and product, offering a truly all-rounded experience for the trainee.

Core accountabilities of role

Key accountabilities of role are listed below:

  • Understand business objectives and utilise marketing channels to amplify business impact
  • Support thought leadership campaigns to have a voice in the market
  • Plan and deliver events and paid sponsorships for brand visibility
  • Develop metrics to track marketing effectiveness across all communication channels
  • Work with digital, events and content teams to ensure correct promotion of marketing initiatives
  • Build solid internal relationships with key stakeholders and external relationships with vendors to streamline day-to-day work
  • Support sales for key account-based marketing and drive business leads
  • Create marketing materials and videos for business development

Knowledge, Skill and Experience

  • Good communication skills (verbal, written, listening)
  • Basic understanding of the financial markets and products
  • Basic understanding of project management: awareness of concepts such as deadlines, milestones. task tracking, risk and issues
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Excellent attention to detail: ability to check work carefully and ensure accuracy in task
  • Good team player, ability to work collaboratively with others and be adaptable and step beyond this role as and when required to contribute to group efforts
  • High organisational skills with good personal time management and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to adapt, prioritise and multitask
  • Fast learners for marketing tools (Linkedin, CRM tools, event microsites, designing tools etc)
