About Hover, Inc
Hover, Inc is shaping the future of flight. We are an emerging leader developing integrated hardware/software platforms, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and edge inference for airborne computer vision. From electric and hybrid-electric powertrains to autonomous eVTOL aircraft, we build solutions for the next generation of aviation.
We are currently developing the world’s most advanced integrated collision avoidance system through strategic grants and a partnership with a leading avionics supplier.
The Role
We are looking for a motivated Engineer to take technical ownership of our embedded software applications from concept through to validation and verification. This is a unique, multidisciplinary role where you will bridge the gap between low-level embedded systems (Embedded C, RTOS, ARM) and cutting-edge machine learning/image processing pipelines.
Your Main Responsibilities
-
Technical Ownership: Drive embedded software design through the entire development lifecycle (concept, prototyping, V&V).
-
Algorithm Development: Develop and implement image processing and machine learning algorithms optimized for edge inference.
-
System Integration: Provide engineering support for software systems and interface with suppliers to capture subsystem requirements.
-
Testing & Assurance: Conduct hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing, and lead TSO-C153A design assurance activities.
What We Are Looking For
-
Foundation: A degree in Embedded Software Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent technical field.
-
Embedded Expertise: High proficiency in Embedded C, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and familiarity with ARM microcontrollers / RISC architecture.
-
Vision & ML: Experience developing image processing algorithms and training pipelines for machine learning.
-
Soft Skills: Excellent written/verbal communication skills and a self-starting, problem-solving mindset.
-
Bonus Points: Prior experience within the aerospace sector is highly desirable.
