The Role

Central to shaping the future direction of British Land, the Strategy Team tackles some of the organisation’s biggest questions, like "how should British Land respond to the threats and opportunities it faces?” and "in which real estate sectors should we invest?”.

As a Summer Intern in the Strategy Team, you will help undertake analysis and primary research into these and other high-profile questions. You’ll help analyse economic, consumer and real estate trends which will directly inform our capital allocation strategy. You’ll also be supported to present your findings to the wider Strategy Team.

What You'll Do

During your 6 weeks with us you will work together with your team on projects that feedback into our business and support our expert people. In addition to this, we will run an internship timetable consisting of tours, talks and networking sessions – so you can get a tangible feel for life at British Land.

You will have the opportunity to explore a career in strategy / real estate to inform your post-university career choice and give you a better understanding of the industry.

On a day-to-day basis you’ll:

• Research new investment opportunities at the property sector level and evaluate key trends affecting commercial real estate
• With support from your colleagues, prepare presentation decks on your strategic research and share these with the team
• Develop your knowledge and understanding of real estate valuation and investment principles, as well as how to persuasively present your ideas and research in a corporate environment

About You

• Currently in their 2nd or 3rd year of study, from any degree discipline
• Willing and eager to learn
• Collaborative, team oriented with a positive and open approach
• Proactive self-motivated individuals with an ability to think on their feet and take on responsibility
• Excellent written and oral communicators, as well as being analytical, creative, and a good problem solver
