Working as a placement student in a team of brilliant software engineers you will use your knowledge and skills to contribute towards the development of signal and spectrum analyser applications and related software. You will experience the full software lifecycle including design, development and testing in a dynamic, fast paced and supportive work environment.
Timescales: The industry placement will start at the beginning of July 2025 and run for 12 months to the end of June 2026.
First interviews planned end of November - at the moment we are assuming 25th November.
Your Tasks
As a member of the Spectrum Analyzer team, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of specific features as assigned by the project leader and the development of test procedures to ensure proper operation of those features.
- You will investigate and provide solutions to customer requests.
- You will learn about the development of complex software applications using C++ and the strategies used for testing those applications.
- You will work closely with industry experts in the UK and Germany and gain knowledge of wireless communications technologies and RF engineering.
- You will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing process improvement within the team.
Your Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- To be studying for a degree in electronic engineering, computer science or STEM course with programming modules.
- Some knowledge of object-oriented programming (such as C++ or similar).
- Experience in real-time software development
- Understanding of wireless telecommunications would be an advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This is an industrial student placement position for 12 months. to be eligible you need to be studying at a University in the UK at the time of the placement.
