Summer Internship 2026 – Financial Research Analyst

Megabuyte is offering a 10-week summer internship for ambitious students in their penultimate year who are keen to gain hands-on experience as Financial Research Analysts. This is a great opportunity to develop your analytical skills, work alongside industry experts, and contribute to our research on the B2B technology sector. The role is based at our Reading office with some working from home options.

About the role...what you can expect

Over the course of your internship, you will develop core analytical skills, including financial modelling and market analysis. Supported by close mentorship, you’ll work on a dedicated project, gaining insight into how we assess companies and trends in the technology sector. You’ll also have exposure to speaking with CEOs and industry experts, helping to shape your understanding of key market dynamics.

• Financial analysis – Interpreting company accounts, corporate transactions, and valuation metrics.

• Market research – Conducting a structured analysis of technology companies and the markets in which they operate.

• Communication & networking – Engaging with industry leaders to gather insights and refine your research approach.

What we look for in Summer Interns:

• Currently studying towards a numerate degree (e.g. finance, economics, maths, engineering or the sciences).

• A curious and analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex information and communicate it clearly.

• Excellent verbal communication skills and confidence in engaging with industry professionals.

• A proactive and well-organised approach, with the ability to work independently and manage deadlines.

• Enthusiasm for financial analysis, market research, and understanding company dynamics.

• High Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.

• A first-stage phone interview with a senior member of the team, where you’ll learn more about the company and role while we assess your suitability.

• A second-stage video interview, involving a more in-depth discussion and the opportunity to meet other members of the research team.
