The role
There are roles within our Safety and Assurance focused teams at Frazer-Nash which consist of:

Naval Safety and Assurance (Bristol/Plymouth/Portsmouth)

Naval Nuclear Assurance (Plymouth)

Land and Air Assurance (Bristol/Hybrid)

Aerospace and Defence Assurance and Certification (Burton)
Each of these teams brings together a wide range of civil and military engineering experience and you will be an integral part of the team you join. If you have a strong interest in joining a particular team described above, please let us know within your covering letter and application.
Regardless of which team you join, you’ll be able to develop your technical knowledge throughout the Concept, Assessment, Demonstration, Manufacture, In-service and Disposal (CADMID) phases of major defence projects; be they in the Land, Sea, Air or even Space domain. You may be finding the missing piece of the design puzzle, helping manage safety and assurance during build and delivery, solving real-time in-service issues, or helping our clients overcome ever more complex material degradation and ageing issues as military capabilities near the end of their design life. We help our clients understand and overcome safety and regulatory challenges associated with deploying cutting-edge technologies, such has those involving autonomy, or the use of novel sustainable fuels to help the drive towards net-zero.
Here are just a few of the challenges we are trying to solve:

Supporting the next generation of future attack submarines by conducting hazard assessments to help the MoD understand and mitigate the risk presented to the crew from fire and flood scenarios.

Providing Safety Management expertise to Babcock in support of the Royal Navy’s Type 31 programme.

Supporting the development of critical naval infrastructure and facilities.

Assuring safety and legislative compliance for the P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft programme, including certification and assurance for safety of the art upgrades.

Safety managing lifesaving dismounted soldiers’ equipment for the future battlefield.

Providing safety support to the manufacture of state of the art battlefield bridging equipment world-wide; Australia, Germany, Singapore and Canada.

Providing an Independent Technical Evaluation service to major widebody aircraft programmes.
As part of the wider business area, you will work with experts from across the company and get a taste of what goes on in different areas of the business. Our graduates will gain exposure and experience in the huge variety of our work, and the chance to explore where their own skills and interests lie, whether that be a leadership or technical path.
At Frazer-Nash we think it is important that you gain exposure to the full project lifecycle and all aspects of our business. You will be given appropriate responsibility from day one, working as part of a project team, interacting with team members and clients as required in order to deliver solutions.
As part of the Frazer-Nash Capability function we will help you develop your technical and consultancy skills, you will be given the opportunity to attend training courses which will enable you to develop technical responses to our clients challenges, produce detailed work as part of a project team and develop Project Management skills.
You will have the opportunity to travel within the UK and internationally – visiting client sites, attending key networking events, perhaps sharing your work at leading industry conferences.

You will need:

You will need to have obtained a 2:1 Degree or higher (or equivalent/experience) with a related Engineering or relevant physical sciences bias.
Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.

Step 3: Video Interview - Situation based & technical questions that are related to the important criteria needed to be successful on the role.
Step 4: Explore day - This includes the opportunity to learn about what we do, network with current Graduates and find out about what a career at Frazer-Nash has to offer. You will be asked to complete an interview and presentation/task as part of the day.
Step 5: Decision/Feedback - You will receive feedback even if we do not make the decision to offer you the job or progress you to the next stage.
