Trainee Broker
Due to an increase in activity, we are looking to hire at least one trainee broker to join our team based in Aberdeen and become part of the next generation of specialist shipbrokers.
The successful candidate(s) should be a highly motivated individual with a background as either a recent graduate or having practical experience working in the shipping sector and willing to learn from one of the most experienced teams in the business. Full training will be given over a 12-18 month period whereby the role will become that of a Junior Broker with excellent career progression prospects beyond.
As part of our structured programme, you will receive training in the following key areas:

Shadowing brokers during client meetings and charter negotiations in order to understand typical client / broker interactions.

Handling of vessel charter and sale & purchase requirements under the supervision of an experienced broker.

Drafting of vessel charter contracts using industry standard BIMCO forms.
-
Supporting broker team with administrative and post fixture duties.
-
Construction & submission of tender packages in timely manner.
-
Tracking of vessel position updates via dialogue with owners and utilising our in-house database.

Supporting our analytical team with research and capturing of the latest market intelligence utilising in-house software tools.

Compiling of regular and bespoke market reports in a supporting role to the analytical team.

Supporting broker team and analytical team in production of presentations to clients.
The company will further support the candidate in working towards their Institute of Chartered Shipbroker qualifications (ICS) which will be fully funded.
Starting salary will be in the GBP 27,000 per annum region however it is negotiable and with potential for an individual performance related bonus. Start date can be adaptable however preferred commencement during May 2026.
