Programme Overview
We are excited to welcome the next intake of Small Animal Rotating Interns for 28th September 2026. This 12-month programme offers structured exposure across five core rotations: Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Anaesthesia, and Emergency Care. Interns also have the opportunity to explore additional rotations of their choice.
The internship is designed to provide hands-on clinical experience, close mentorship, and continuous professional development within a leading referral hospital.

How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Veterinary Intern, you will gain valuable exposure to a referral or advanced clinical environment, working collaboratively with experienced veterinary surgeons, nurses, and support teams to deliver high-quality patient and client care.
This role is designed to support your clinical development, build confidence in managing more complex cases, and deepen your understanding of evidence-based veterinary medicine. You’ll actively participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and clinical governance activities, while being supported by senior clinicians and mentors.
You Might Be a Great Fit If...
- You are a motivated and enthusiastic veterinary surgeon who is keen to develop their clinical skills within a supportive referral or advanced-care setting.
- Bring a Veterinary degree and registration with the RCVS with experience working as part of a clinical veterinary team.
- Have strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
- Possess clear and confident communication skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork and a positive and proactive attitude to learning and development.
- Hold an interest in evidence-based veterinary medicine and clinical best practice.
