Insight programme

About the business area

Our technology teams sit within our Group Chief Information Office (GCIO), building the digital platforms, systems, and products our customers and colleagues use every day, keeping assets and data secure, and delivering exceptional digital experiences.

Who you are

We’re looking for curious, motivated individuals who enjoy solving problems, working with others, and are interested in using tech to make a difference. You don’t need to have all the answers – just a passion for learning, an open mindset, and a collaborative spirit.

You could be a great fit if you’re:

  • A natural collaborator: You enjoy working with diverse teams and you’re confident communicating with people at all levels, from your peers to those more senior than you.
  • Self-motivated and proactive: You spot opportunities, ask great questions, and always look for ways to grow.
  • Eager to learn: Tech doesn’t stand still – and neither do you. You’re excited to explore new tools, platforms and ideas.
  • Self-aware and emotionally intelligent: You understand how to adapt in unfamiliar situations and are thoughtful in how you communicate with others.
  • A practical problem-solver: You’re great at breaking down challenges and thinking logically.

What you’ll gain

  • Understand how HSBC is taking a digital-first approach: Hear about how we develop new products and services, enhance existing ones, and provide software support that keeps our global teams moving.
  • Explore different roles: Get a behind-the-scenes look at how different teams work with the technology that powers our business.
  • Hear from women in tech: Connect with current graduates and senior leaders as they share their experiences and career journeys.
  • Find out more about the skills you’ll need to thrive at HSBC, and how you can develop them during and after the programme.
  • Grow your confidence: Join interactive workshops, networking sessions and group tasks designed to build both your technical and behavioural skills.
